Events
Events are time-bound occasions with their own invite system. Examples include “Office Secret Santa 2024”, “Dad’s 60th Birthday Party”, or “Wedding Registry”.
Events have a start and end date, optional budget tracking, and can have different operating modes based on the gift-giving dynamic.
Event Modes
Section titled “Event Modes”| Mode | Description |

| Everyone Gives | All participants give gifts to each other |
| Give to Honoree | Everyone gives to one person (birthday party) |
| Secret Santa | Random gift assignments |
Actions
Section titled “Actions”Create an Event
Section titled “Create an Event”- Go to Events in the sidebar
- Click Create Event
- Fill in the details:
- Name — What’s the occasion?
- Event Date — When is it?
- Mode — Everyone gives, give to honoree, or Secret Santa
- Budget (optional) — Suggested spending amount
- Click Create Event
Invite Participants
Section titled “Invite Participants”- Open your event
- Click Invite
- Copy the invite code or link
- Share it with participants
- They enter the code or click the link to join
Join an Event
Section titled “Join an Event”- Receive an event code or link
- Go to Events → Join Event
- Enter the invite code (or click the invite link)
- You’re now a participant and can see linked wishlists
Link a Wishlist to an Event
Section titled “Link a Wishlist to an Event”- Open the event
- Click Link Wishlist
- Select an existing wishlist or create a new one
- Participants can now view and claim from it
Set Event Budgets
Section titled “Set Event Budgets”Enable budget tracking for the event:
- Open event settings
- Set a Suggested Budget per giver
- When participants claim gifts, amounts count toward their budget
- View budget progress in the event dashboard
View Budget Dashboard
Section titled “View Budget Dashboard”- Open the event
- Go to Budgets
- See:
- Each participant’s budget progress
- Total claimed amounts
- Who’s over or under budget
Manage Participants (Organizer)
Section titled “Manage Participants (Organizer)”As an event organizer, you can:
- Open the event
- Go to Participants
- See who has joined
- Remove participants if needed
- Resend invite links
Close an Event
Section titled “Close an Event”After the occasion passes:
- Open the event
- Click Close Event in settings
- The event moves to your history
- Linked wishlists are no longer visible to participants
Delete an Event
Section titled “Delete an Event”- Open the event settings
- Click Delete Event
- Confirm the deletion
Event Visibility
Section titled “Event Visibility”Events are only visible to participants while they’re active:
